Consulting
Our consultants developed an application designed to provide a web based companion for introductory college writing course text books. The application includes three modules. The author module allows authors to create several types of web based exercises, and customize them for specific text books. The instructor module allows instrutors to further customize the courseware for their class, grade and provide feedback on student essays, and track student progress. The student module allows students to take online exercies, write essays and recieve feedback from their instructors and to track their grades.
Mentoring
Our consultants worked with a NYS Agency and mentored the staff so they could implement a content management tool, update the architecture design, and design web services.
This engagement included training in Contribute, design of web site architecture and templates, determination of which Dreamweaver site maintenance tools are appropriate (if any) and prototyping using the current site as a base.
We also looked at making changes to the existing framework, potentially implementing another formal framework, identified components needed to maximize re-use, improve existing client side and server side validation modules and methods, and evaluate new components needed to implement web based control/automation of data uploads.
